Two Men Killed.1—At the Vermillion County Fair, at Newport, h».-t -.reek, two men were killed. The first wa* a man living near Georgetown, Illinois, whose name we do not know. lie was associating with a woman of bad character, and giving her some offense, she drew a revolver, inflicting two wound* which soonafter proved fatal. ;The other death was cmtcd by an altercation between Richard Utter, of Newport and a man named Clayton, of Eugene.* Clayton was intoxicated and insulted Utters wife and niece. Utter tlncatened to call a policeman,-whereupon ( lnyton struck him a heavy blow in the face. Utter drew a pistol and fired. Theball only grazed Clayton’s coat, but•struck a voting man named William Grinin in the hip, ranging uplo the lower bowels. lie died on Sunday evening. Utter was recognized in the siim of $ 1,000 to appear at the next term of the Circuit Court, to answer the charge of manslaughter. •
