W. C. Dodson Last rites were held Sun day afternoon at the Seventh Street Baptist Church for W. C. Dodson, 74, who died Friday afternoon in Ballin ger Clinic Hospital. He had been bedfast for about three years, and hos pitalized since Thursday. Dodson was a native of Pittsburg, Texas, coming to Runnels County in 1906 from Bogota, Texas. He was a vet eran railroad man, coming to Ballinger in 1914, four years after the Abilene Southern Railway was begun. He work ed there first for Morgan Jones, and remained with the company after it was pur chased by the Texas Pa elie Railway Co. He was made section fore man in 1917, and transferred to Radium. He was sent to Winters in 1919, where he remained until 1930 when he returned to Ballinger. He was employed by the railroad for 43 years. He was married to the former Myrtle Barnett on August 28, 1910 at New Home, he was a deacon at Seventh Street. Baptist Church. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Billy Crews, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Fred Campbell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. U. S. Burial was in Old Run nels Cemetery under the di rection of Newby-Davis Fun eral Home. Survivors include his wife; two sons, CWO William C Dodson of Germany and R.N. Dodson of Ballinger; five daughters, Mrs. Oness Feeler of Fort Worth, Mrs. C. E.
