CHILD HIT BY AUTO ESCAPES UNINJUREDMinor Accident at Ridge-Dixie IntersectionContrary to reports which circulated about the village shortly after the mishap, Lawrence (Buddy) Clark was uninjured by the accident which happened Tuesday morning at nine o’clock when he was struck by an automobile owned by William Mattox, while in the act of crossing Ridge road at the Dixie highway intersection.The child was going south on the east side of the Dixie highway and was oil his way to the Doepp home whichi s serving as a temporary school while the new building is being constructed. He was carrying at his side a small case for books which is thought to have lessened the shock, for the automobile driven by Mattox caught the boy on its right fender and knocked him out of the path of the machine. The fender struck the book satchel which took the greater part of the initial shock.The youngster was knocked unconscious by the force of the impact, but when he was taken to the office of Dr. Jansen, an examination revealed that he was merely shaken up and that no bones were broken.
