Reid of Connecticut, a heavy properly holder of Kettle Falls, arrived here on Monday of this week for u visit of a few weeks. Mr. lleid was one of the first Investors in this locality and is the owner of many lots and a large acreage. The past two years H. F. Mr. lteid was the founder of tlie Jhank of Kettle Falls, which openedits doors for business in December, 18'JO, with 1L 1. Quimbey as cashier ami L. J. Knight as bookkeeper. Mr. Reid after a few months sold I lie business to T. J. Reynolds, Mr. Qulmbey running the business for a few months for Mr. Reynolds, when the depositors were paid ofT and the bank closed for several years. Mr. Ucdd for several years was the owner of the land where P. G. Carlisle, O. A. Atwood anil Mr. Hansen now live, the most valuable land now in this region. For the past 18 months Mr. Reid has spent the most of the time in Europe, seeking the most valuable asset in life—good health. Ho returns greatly improved, and says ho is “feeling fine. He certainly looks it. Ills old friends and acquaintances, of which there are a few left here, are giving him a hearty welcome.
