Kolb and Dill, in their New York and San Francisco success Lonesome Town/’ These clever German dialecticians will appear at the Astoria theatre tonight for a limited engagement of one night. “Lonesome Town was an unmistakable success not only on this coast but in New York, Chicago and all of the prominent cities of the east. It ran for four months at theCircle Theatre, New York City, play ing to crowded houses and this ha been the rule wherever Kolb and Dill have since appeared in this laugh-producer. | j“Lonesome Town” is a comedy set to music and it is a distinct novelty in its particular line. The late Jud-son C. Brusie wrote it and the humoris as keen and pungent as the most critical playgoer could desire. The jtory deals with the laughable at- j ( tempt on the part of several imposters to claim the town oi Watts, California, which proves an excellent vehicle for the two stars to create amusing scenes as well as for the introduction of 16 musical numbers, every oneof which is a gem.The play is full of swinging, catchy music of the sort that makes one want to whistle and the orchestration is decidedly unique.
