SOCIAL GATHERING AT ARISTES. St. Peter’s Congregation Give Their Pastor a Pleasant Surprise—Large Gathering of Members. The members of St. Peter's Evan gelical Lutheran congregation, of Aristes, pleasantly surprised their pastor in charge on Friday evening, September 14th. While the pastor was busily en gaged in lecturing to his catechetical class the members gathered quietly in the P.O. 8. of A. hall, there to await his arrival. The pastor, M. M. Dry,was ushered into the hall by one of the mem bers, J. A. Houtz, and the surprise fol lowed. No sooner had he entered the hall when the band, lead by Oliver Hon abach, marched into the room. After the rendition of several selections Rev. Wahrmann, of Numidia, in the name of the members assembled, presented the pastor with a purse containing $15.00. With many thanks and best wishes for the future of the congregation the pas tor accepted the gift, after which re freshments were served by the ladies. Those present were: Rev. Wahrmann and wife, W.
