NOTES.Local base ball goers will at least have an opportunity of seeing tbe most celebrated independent team in tbe world when green’s Nebraska Indians play the Reds at Midway Park, Thursday, Oot. 4th. The reputation of the redskins is too well known to need much comment and they are just now closing one of their most successful seasons. The team is composed of some of the greatest players in the profession and are held together by Guy W. Green, one of the most prominent figures in base ball today. Starting from Lincoln, Neb., in April they have worked their way eastward to the coast and this far on their trip homeward, having won a Jarge majority of their games from the best clubs in the country. Three years ago the • Indians drew the largest crowd in the history of Midway Park and won with ease over the local Reds. Forrest More, pitcher on the Springfield club of the Three Eye League, and Mike Simon, catcher for Peoria of the same league, will be home in time to form the Red’s battery and if possible down the Neforaskans;
