The Draws Arranged.—Some of The Best Dogs on The Continent Here.—Dogs Worth a Thousand Pollars Running.—The Visitoers.—The Start Made. From Thursday's Daily The Brandon Kennel Clubs third annua field trials opened this morning on grounds south-east of the city, near Martinville. Last evening's train brought in its quota of sportsmen, and from the enthusiasm shown, the sport of working chicken dogs in the field promises to outrival any other out-door enjoyment in this Province. Sel dom, if ever, has such a collection of famous canines been brought together in this country. Dogs valued at a thousand dollars are here competing for honors and money. The draw was made last evening for the Derby, the first event on the programme. The eligible for this stake must have been whelped since Jan. 09. eight o'clock the first brace was put dow n judges—Nat. Nesbitt, of Chestervills, Miss. and J.B. Borradaile, two of the most capable field trial judges on the con tinent, have a hard task ahead of them in in picking the winner out of such fields of de The following is the draw for the Derby, which I expected to finish to might Leda Wind Em—Orange and white English setter bitch, handied by H. 5S. Bevan, Sommerville, Tenn.; with Clip Wind Em—white and black English setter bitch, owned by Avent Curyea, Hickory Valley. Tenn Deck Light—lemon and white pointer dog, handied by D. E. Rose, Lawrence burg, Tenn.; with Robert Count Gladstone-- orange and white setter dog, owned by C. W. Aluilan, Waterloo, Iowa ; handied by H. S. Be van. Manitoba Blythe—liver and white ticked “and bitch, handied by Sandy Reid, tanipeg, with iock ta and white pointer dog, handled by J. Lemos, Winnipeg. Oakard Valley—liver and white pointer dog, owned by F. W. Scott, Winnipeg; with Gray's Pearl—liver and white pointer bitch, handled by David Pearl, Morris, Man. Italiet—liver and white pointer bitch, owned by T. T. Ashford, Birmington, Alabama ; handled by J. M. Avent, Hick ory Valley, Tenn.; with Sam B—liver and white pointer dog, handied by H. S. Bevan, Summerville. Tenn Dan Urbe—black, white and tan seller dog, owned by T. S. Ashford, Birming ton, Alabama; handled by J. M. Avent, hickory Valley, Tenn.; With Lady Iris—black, white and tan setter bitch, handled by H.S. Bevan, Sommer ville, Tenn. The draw for the open stake takes place tomorrow. In this event, Avent has four dogs, Prime Minister, Liam Rachael, Sioux and Dot's Pay, each a field trial Winner. Rove has three previous winners, Sports Gath, Oakly Hill and Rad of Light, just. Mr. Bevart also has a barker that has captured a trial, Rod's Son. The Manitoba Stake will likely be run on Saturday. A number of eniies have been renewed from Winnipeg for this Stake. E. J. White has entered Mani toba Prairie Bird, the winner of the West ern Canada Derby last year, and Zullika, winger of the Brandoninas last year. Among those who came in on the Northern Pacific last might from the Car man trials to attend the trials here, were D.E. Rose and J. M. Avant, Hickory Valley, Tenn, H.S. Bevan, 1D. A. Carm an and wifesi. F. Whitman and N. B. esbitt, Clusterville, Miss. These gentlemen brought with them twenty-five dogs, included in which are some of the best bird dogs on the conti nent.
