OBITUARYJohn Nelson Carlisle was bom in Warsaw, 0„, March 9, 1839; died Sipt, 21,1900, aged 61 years, 6 months, 12 days.He with his mother, brother and two sisters came to Illinois in the spring of 1855- and settled in Lawrence county, where he has since resided.He enlisted in the service of his country as the first call in April, 1861, and, with the exception of abont three months, served until the close of the war, and was dis-charged as a first lieutenant.11 He was married to Miss Alice Goodman, April 17,1869, by Bev. Wm. Inskip.1 He leaves a wife, four daughters and a son; two sisters, Mrs. Israel Berkshire, Chehalia, Washington, and Mrs. Asa M a Brash, Chauncey.Funeral services were conducted by Revs. W. C. Reeder and Sam’lRoderick. Interment at Chauncey*Cemetery.
