Welcome to the Panhandle South Plains Fair now in full swing! Welcome to the very interesting and in formative exhibit prepared and operated by the Lubbock Gem Mineral Society! And welcome ... always ... to Young's Rocks Gems at its home on the west side of Interstate 27, just across from the south boundary of the Lubbock Regional Airport. Year after year, increasing interest has been justifiably directed to the big exhib it of the Lubbock Gem Mineral Socle Not only are gorgeous stones, rocks and all from throughout the world displayed, but the exhibit is so comprehensive that no matter what one’s age, introduction to this most educational hobby — the study of minerals and gemstones of the earth — is made easy. Demonstrations Actual demonstrations involving lapi dary equipment are being staged. The local Gem and Mineral Society now only welcomes attendance at its Fair booths, but it takes pleasure at any time in introducing one to new adven tures in the field. The society meets the first Tuesday night each month in the Precinct I Clubhouse on 50th Street, and visitors always are welcomed. It is an enthusiastic club, not only gen erating initial interest but conducting a program of continuing interest. Group trips throughout the Southwest are con ducted. And it also serves as an informa tion source on “where to go to find the desired stones, etc. The Fair exhibit is the fifth annual fall show of the society. See Young's display there, a small rep resentative stock from throughout the huge selection to be found at Young's, just north of Lubbock. Young's Rocks Gems has earned a reputation a throughout the multi-state area as a dependable source of supply, whether for the Indian crafts, such as concho belts, bracelets, rings, etc., but al so for an unbelievable collection of gem stones, rubies, emralds, opals and lapi dary supplies, to name a few of its offer ings. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Young are quite en thusiastic about the opportunity to show at the South Plains Fair in Lubbock, wel coming this method of displaying the genuine Indian jewelry, some items of which are seldom seen in this area. On display, are some items worth hundreds of dollars. We hope to see you at the Fair!
