Angus cd to pay honor to their fatheron his 84th birthday They matat the Angus home and attended Sunday School and Sacramentmeeting With Mr. find Mrs. Angus.The program at meeting was presented, for the most part by the Angus family, with Mrs. Thelma Cook, daughter, of Bluebell, as organist and Miss Reva Merelt of Vernal, a granddaughter, as chorister. Speakers included John A. Angus and Frank and Fuller Morrell, of Vernal, his sons-in-law. A vocal sol n was presented by John Asa M ebb, of Bluebell a grandson and a Violin solo by Margie Forman, of Salt Lake City, a great-granddaughter- Closing prayer was offered by Hugh Percival. of Iuka.a son-in-law.Following the meeting the family adjourned to the Angus home where they enjoyed a pot luck lunch Entertainment, In the wav of a picture show, was furnished bv Bob Forman, of Salt Lake City, a great-grandson.Forty-nine members of the family wore present, Including Mr and Mi - Frank Merrell and daughter. Mr and Mrs. Fuller Merrell and two sons, and Mr and Mrs. Jim Jensen and two sons, all of Vernal Mr end Mrs Delbert Angus and son, and Mr and Mrs. Roger Angus and two children, of Draper. Mr. and lt;Mrs Jim Forman and four children, and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Angus and daughter, of Salt Lake City; Mr, and Mrs. FloydAngus and two children, and Mrs. Alice Angus, of Lapoinl;Mrs. Glen Redraund and twochildren, of Duchesne; Mr, andMrs Oyie Cook and three children, of Bluebell; Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Percival and four children, of [oka, and Miss Edna Angus, of Ft. Duchesne,Mr, Angus was born in Spanish Fork in 1862. In 1882 he was married to Mary June Gribble at the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. Three years later they moved to Vernal, being among the first pioneers to settle in the Ashley Valley. They had six children, five of whom are still living. Mrs Angus died in 1905.In October 1906, Mr. Angus married Bertha B. Dennis at Vernal They pioneered to Ioka soon after the opening of the reservation, being the first L, D. S. family to settle there From this second marriage were born seven children, five of whom are still living. A son, Lynn F. Angus. was killed in action in Germany in March, 1945.Mr. Angus has been an active member of the LDS church during his residence in Ioka. and it was through his efforts that the Ioka meeting house was built He served as the first bishop of tin Ioka word, which position he filled for a twelve year period.
