MISS DAVIS HOMER GUEST AT DINNER PARTY. Mrs and Mrs. C. D. Evans were host and hostess last evening at a prettily appointed 6 o'clock dinner compliment ing Miss Helen Davis of Adrian, Mic., the house guest of Miss Esther Bussing, at their home, 314 Chester avenue. Covers were laid for eight. The after dinner hours were spent informally with a DINNER PARTY AT VON SCHRADER HOME. Mr. and Mrs. Frank,Von Schrader, 223 North Market street, entertained a few friends informally at dinner last evening in honor of Mrs. Charles H. Loder of Chicago, who is a guest at the C. O. Taylor home. Autumn garden flowers beautified the table, and covers were laid for ten. LAF-A-LOT CLUB TO MEET ‘WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. Mrs. Harvey Prosser will entertain the Laf-a-Lot club at her home on James street, Wednesday afternoon. All members are most cordially invited ANNUAL MEETING OF PLYMOUTH ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting and election of officers of the Women’s Association of the Plymouth Congregation church will be held Thursday afternoon at the church, and a large attendance of mem bers is desired. MISS WHITEFIELD PLY SURPRISED. Mrs. ©. R. Whitfield planned a de lightful surprise on her daughter, Miss Gladys, at her home, 604 ENis avenue, Monday evening. The occasion being her fifteenth birthday anniversary. Some twenty guests were entertained with musical selections by Miss Lurene Scots, and with games. “Miss Whitfield re ceived a number of beautiful remem brances of the occasion, among them being a ring set with her birthstone from her mother. Every member is requested to make an effort to be present as business of importance will be discussed. SECOND ANNUAL PHUNION OF SCHMITZ FAMILY. The second annual reunion of the Schmitz family was held Sunday at the home of the second members of the fam ily of Henry Schmitz, near Kirksville Mrs. Nels Tennyson was the only mem ber of the family, which consists of ten brothers and sisters, who was unable to attend. A sumptous basket dinner was served on the spacious lawn at 1 o'clock, covers being laid for some fifty of the immediate relatives, all of whom are Wapello county residents except John Sehmitz and family of Melrose. Mrs. Mary Fabritz of this city is oldest member of the family. The after din ner hours were spent with a number of impromptu musical selections and read ings and with singing old German songs. FAREWELL FOR PETERSON FAMILY The members of the Lat-a-Lot club and their families planned and carried out a delightful farewell surprise on Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Peterson and fam ily at their home, 137 South Ransom street, last evening. Supper was served cafeteria style in the dining room at 7 o'elock. The after supper hours passed pleasantly with music and games. Wess twenty two guests en joyed the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Peter son and family will leave this city the latter part of the week for Enid Okla homa, to spend the winter. SEWING CIRCLE TO MEET. Mrs. J. W. Jarboe, 118 South Moore street, will entertain the Sewing Circle of the Moore Street Brethren church, Wednesday afternoon. The Jadices are ask to meet at one o'clock, ELKS BEGIN SOCIAL ACTIVTIES. The social activities of the B. P.O. Elks will be launched Friday evening with a dancing party in the club rooms. The party will be one of the informal affairs which were so much enjoyed by the members and their friends dur ing last winter, and dancing will be en joyed from 9 until 12 O’clock.
