The Hmrkujc correspondent from tins city, has the following interesting data on the city imsrovementsfor the past year:There has been much building done in this city this season. A large number of new houses have been erected within the city limits, in addition to what repairing has been done to the various properties over the city, and there has been several business houses put up also. Those whc have put up new dwell, ings, or have them in course of erection during the season are as follows: John D. flale, Broadway;James Thompson, Broadway; W. 11. Hornby, North Lincoln. W. II. Mahutlie, Broad street; Win, Courtney, North Lincoln; Dr. T. K. Cork-hill, North Main; John Jericho North Main; Dr. E.G. Linn and John D. Smith, North Main; Mrs. Emily D. Craven, East Madison; N. A. .1, Young, East Madison; J. C, McCoid, East Monroe; Fred Crane, East Monroe. G. H. Brewer, East Monroe: E. VV. Cole, East Mouroo; Prof, Lincoln Antrim, East Washington; Prof. K. S. Galer, East Washington; Harry DeLaubenfela, South Jetferson; J.O. Bowmau, South Jackson; Will Martin, West Henry; Will White, West Henry; Thomas Throop, West Clay; II. L, Throop, West Clay; F. K. Leedham, East Clay, The above makes a total of twenty-three new houses in the year justabout closing. Charles Whittaker has entirely remodeled his home on South Adams street this summer and numerous are the places where much improving has been done. In a busi-j ness way, there has been the Smith ; Linn building on North Main street, the Cold Storage building on North MaiD street, the Standard Oil company’s tanka on the depot grounds and the new vault at the court house.
