Well corespondents and readers of the DEMOCRAT I have an object in view and I want you to help me out- I want to get up a quilt and I want each one of the correspondents and readers of the DEMOCRAT to piece a block 9 inchesquare and send it to me in an envelope, address ‘‘Mechan ic” Carmel, Trimbie county, Ky.,and I want you to work your name and address in the corner of the block. As soon as I get blocks enough to make a quilt I will have it set together in good style and quilted in fhne style and after it is done I will leave it at the Democrat office for inspection. I consider it will be a fine souvenir and keepsap and if any of the cor respondents or readers of the DEMO CRAT wishes to get up anything I am willing to help them. “MECHANIC.” The DEMOCRAT will give a years subscription to the one furnishing the most artistic block for Mechanic’s quilt.—[Ed. THE Eagle Cotton Mills running full blast, all the saw mills running ‘on full time, store foundry a boom ing, both foundries with all the work they can do, Schofield’s Woolen Mill hurrying up to get started and get some of the numerous orders off their hands, in fact almost every fac tory in the city either running on full time or preparing to commence, what’s the matter of Madison? She’s all right, and as ‘solid as the rocks in the hills that tower above her.
