'Betsy' needs helpEditor:I am. writing on the behalf of Old Betsy, the 1926 LaFrance fire truck owned by the City of Venice.Old Betsy and the city started out new together in 1926. Venice has changed so much since then, and not much of the “old Venice” remains to be seen because much of it has been torn down or disguised by renovations. But Old Betsy remains a fond memory that can be both seen and touched.Old Betsy is a popular attraction in our parades. At the Old Timers’ Picnic, she is always the center of attention for both children and adults.
