Doylestown Business and Pro fessional Women's Club, organiz ed in 1953 with a charter list of thirty-four, started off its cele bration of BPW Week Sunday with a tea given by Mrs. Elizabeth Albers, Mary street, Doylestown, with more than 30 women present. Women all over the nation are working together to make this week one in which women will be highlighted, honored, and ap preciated for the many things they have accomplished in the professional, business and civic situations which come up con stantly in the community, county, state and nation. At the state convention this spring, it was announced that 19 million women are employed to day, and it would undermine the whole nation’s economy if these women were unemployed. Tentative platform of the state group, which has the full endorse ment of the local club, includes advancement of woman's position in the state and nation, and use of her full capacities; support of legislation within the U.S. Con stitution to implement foreign pol icy to promote peace and national security; tax adjustments directly affecting interests of women em ployed, including cost of care of dependents because of the neces sity for working. Appearing on the radio over WBUX Wednesday at 1:30 will be Mrs. Louise Leibrick, president of the club; Mrs. Jean Bates, past president. and past director of District 11, and Mrs. Rosa Lee Brown. They will have an inter esting and ‘“‘different’ program to present with Nonnie Crawford. A eSalute will also be given over WBUX each morning of the week's celebration.
