John F. Schottel, 65, died at 3 o'clock this morning at the Sis ters hospital in St. Joseph where he had been a patient since Mon day evening. He was a resident of King City, MO, and was the fa ther of Ivan Schottel, head foot ball coach at St. Benedict's col lege and former coach at the At chison High School, Mr. Schottel suffered a stroke in March and made a satisfactory recovery. Two weeks ago he visit ed here at the home of Coach and Mrs. Schottel. At King City Mr. Schottel was associated with the Pettijohn Mo tor Co. Previously he was the Plymouth - DeSoto dealer at Ro sendale, Mo. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Gregory Schottel, of the home in King City; two daughters, Mrs Charles Simmons and Mrs. John Hays, both of King City; three sons, Donald Schottel and Ken-
