Harrold Farmer Severely Burned By Gasoline BlastPIERRE, Sept. 25—lt;£)—John Schmitgen, 33, Harrold farmer,, was in serious condition in the' Pierre Hospital today with severe burns and shock received when the gasoline tank of his car exploded last night.His physician said Schmitgen; suffered first and second degree -burns on his face, hands and amis. The doctor said he probably will. recover.Schmitgen was taken to the hospital by Leslie Erickson,* Pierre, living near the Missouri River bank road where the blast occurred. Erickson said he did not. hear an explosion but first noticed a plume of smoke and found Schmitgen stumbling along the ; road near t.ie car.
