Word was received by Mrs. Cyril Walker of the death of her brother in-law, Mr. J. M. Fritz, who passed away at Santa Cruz, Cal., after a brief illness of pneumonia. Mr. Fritz was for many years a resident of Dubuque and was associated with the Knapp- Stout Lumber Co, and later with the Frodden Lumber Co. After retiring from active business life he removed to California, where he has since re sided, Mr. Fritz was a faithful and hon ored member of St. Luke's Methodist Episcopal church and served on its official board as a steward until his departure from the city. He was truly beloved by his associates in the church as well as the business world and his even and kindly disposition made his acquaintance a genuine pleasure to all who knew him. Surviving to mourn his death are his wife and one daughter, Adele.
