Gave a High Dive And Preached a Sermon---Evangelist’s Act. Parkersburg, W. Va., Sept. 25.— Attracted by the unusual announce ment that a preacher would walk a tight rope and perform a high dive into the river, as well as preach a ser mon which would introduce a new church denomination, more than two thousand persons assembled Sunday morning at the **Devil’s Tea Table,”’ in the upper part of Wirt county, to ‘see and hear the Rev. James Joseph Tecumseh Copen, the mountain evan gelist. The schedule was carried out as per arrangement, and the minister became one of the most-talked-about men in the county by his extraordinary per formances.
