BOONE, BUT NOT BOON.T. J. Boone, the well known timber man and farmer, was up from Weldon Wednesday on business. He is laboring under a mistake upon the part of the public, from which the Independent hopes to extricate him. It seems that wherever Mr. Boone goes, he is asked “When did you get out on bond?” or some such inquiry that would go to show he i» thought to be L. B. Boon, now in jail awaiting trial for rape.The two parties spell their names differently, and are not even related, and this Mr. Boone of Weldon seriously objects to being mistaken for I the other Boon. The prevalence of the mistake may have a funny side to the public, but there is no humor in thesituation for the wronged Mr. T. j J. Boone.
