Greenback Convention.The Greenback Labor Party held a Convention here last Saturday, and organized by electing W. H, Turner, chairman and Pat Maloy, Secretary. After preliminaries business was proceeded with by choosing Wm. H. Turner, Richard Moore, George Caro thers, and some other gentleman whose name we did not learn, as central committeemen. A committee on Resolutions was appointed, which re- i ported the following,which were adopted: ' Resolved, That we reaffirm the platform adopted by the Greenback Labor ' Convention held at Pavton, Ohio, July 24, 1884.Resolved, That we congratulate our fel low working men on the progress our party has made during the past eight years. In 1S7G, our first standard bearer for President, that grand humantarian, philanthropist and statesman, Peter , Cooper, received 75,000 votes; four years ' later Gen. James B, Weaver received ' 360,000 votes: and in November next | Gen. B. F. Butler, our gallant standard , bearer in the present National contest, j will receive over one million votes of the laboring inen of this country, Our cause is in the ascendency and no longer do the leaders of the Democratic and Republi- ] can parties treat us contemptuously and j with ridicule as they did a few years ,»g°- «. IResolved, That we pledge ourselves to , exert our influence to secure votes for our , National, State, District and County j tickets, that our glorious cause may be advanced and the day of labor emanci- , pation speedily brought to a realization. , L. Turner; Common Pleas Judge, no nomination; Probate Judge, Charles Rabc, Cambridge; Treasurer, John Hood, Byesville, Clerk, Edward Railey, Cambridge; Sheritf Patrick Malloy, Cambridge; Prosecuting Attorney, William Eagleton, Center; Commissioner, Wm. Miuto, Sr., Cambridge; Infirmary Director, James Tandy, Cambridge. After which the meeting adjourned.
