Gage Items by JOAN Bill Eagland and Leonard Cous ins retumed Thursday from a no day bear hunt near Pecos, New Mexico. They reported a lot of signs and cold weather. (No bear.) Mr. and Mrs. Charles Painter have had as their guests, Mr. Painter's mother of Joplin, Mo.; his sisters, Mrs. Crow of Bolivar, Mo., and Mrs. Schwarts of Waco, Texan We had some candidates out campaigning out our way. Mrs. Trina Schwartz visited Sunday and Harry Osborne, Monday. Mr. and Mrs Albert Snider and daughters were Deming visitors Tuesday. George Gordon and daughters were in for the game Friday. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ENJOY PICNIC The Business and Professional Women’s Club enjoyed a preme supper Monday evening, Septem ber 13, at the Whitehill residence. The highlight of the evening was an interesting report by Margaret Ann Marshall and Juanita Sim mons who attended Girls’ State in Las Vegas. It was decided that the club will meet in the League Room of the Methodist church each month. Each member i: asked to bring a covered dish. =. Mire Barney Mazanek and daugh ter, Dianne, of Silver City, spent Saturday in Deming visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs A C Maza nek. Mrs. Vada Hyatt returned Tues day from Morenci, Ariz. She drove her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bee man, over. While in Morenc, she visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harry, Hyatt. Mr and Mrs George Ackerman were business visitors in El Paso Pridar. M. and Mrs. Allan Crotchett are diving a new Pontiac. R G. Franey is able to be around town after being confined to his home with illness. Mr. and Mrs. Gil Wilder and a family of Los Alamos, visited rela tives in Deming the past weekend Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lindauer are attending the races in Albu querque this week. Claude Grabert spent Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C., Dr. Grabert. Claude was visiting mining properties at Sil ver City and Vanadium.
