A verdict of murder in the tirst degree, without capital punishment. was the verdict brought in by the jury in the district court today :n the case of John Gaslow. charged with the murder of Myra Schmidt, a woman {-‘of the underworld, in this city last December.Gaslow is a pioneer of the North, having lived at Dawson, Fairbanks, Iditarod and other places in the interior.The evidence in the case was all circumstantial, and the case was bitterly contested and attracted wide attention.
