■:* Coney Island, j One of the largest crowds of the season, so far, went up the river yesterday to witness the balloon race and parachute drop of Fisk and Tolbert. The eient was not a complete success. At 3 o'clock in the aflernooa. when everything was ready and the word to go was given, Mr. Tolbert arose and started oft ! in ihe most beautiful Manner. Mr. Fisk w as to have gotten off at the same moment, but the iron couple bolding bis parachute and balloon together opened w ide, and thlt; result was that the balloon got od In ths proper way, but it left the aeronaut and parachute on the ground. Mr. Tolbert made one of the most thrilling and successful ascenaiona | ever seen at this plane, and landed over on the hills in Kentucky without a scratch.
