Jesse Evans is still in jail at Fort Stockton and is veryanxious that Governor Wallaceshould make a requisition upon the Governor of Texas for him. He evidently thinks there would be a better chance of escape for him in this Territory than in Texas.. The Governor will probably allow him ro remain where he is until he is tried and then, if acquitted, have a requisition ready for him the moment he is turned loose.
