in ineir nanas.The Baron de Camin in Difficulties,—OnThursday, Baron de Oamin, the unfortunate lecturer against Popery, was (says the Sheffield 2-wiss) summoned in the Sheffield County Court, for £.1 odd, due to Messrs. Pawson and Brailsford, for placards announcing lectures delivered in Sheffield some months ago. The Baroness appeared in answer to the summons, and admitted the debt, offering to pay it by instalments of os. a month. The plaintiffs asked for an order for immediate payment, on the ground that credit had been obtained on the representation that the defendant had landed estates in France, the rents of which he was at that time expecting to receive, and out of which he would pay the account. The Baroness said she and her husband were in exile, and could not afford to pay more than os* a month. The plaintiffs said they would willingly have accepted the debt by instalments could they believe that the defendant was honestly desirous of paying the account. The fact, however, was, that the Baron had given a false address, both to themselves and the County Court bailiff, who had only been enabled to effect service of the summons by dogging defendant along the streets. If the money were ordered to be paid by instalments, it would be impossible to find the Baron, and they would, therefore, never get the amount.
