Ruth Baron gave up her crown to the new Miss Comfort on July 3, 1971, at the Comfort Altgelt Park. During her reign as Miss Comfort, she rode in the Comfort Chamber of Commerce float in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, and attended the banquet held at the Tropicano Hotel in San Antonio, rode in the Berges Fest Parade in Boerne, and also the Comfort Homecoming Parade. Among other activities in high school, Ruth was in the F.H.A., made all district and lettered in basketball, chosen best all around girl, was a majorette, and was chosen Band Sweetheart. Ruth graduated on June 4, 1971, and will attend A.M.T.C. in Kansas City, Missouri. Ruth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Baron of Comfort, formerly of Deanville, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Baron of Caldwell.
