Linda Kelley Tours UN, Linda Kelley, a junior at AI-bia Community High School, was sponsored by the Odd Fellows on a trip to New York and the United Nations last summer.Linda left June 10 from Des Moines by bus. On her way to New York she stopped at Gettys-’ burg, Valley Forge, Longwood j Gardens, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.Linda and her twenty-two companions spent one morning and part of an afternoon at the United Nations. They listened to four i lectures a day, which were cspe- ] dally prepared for them. They were adrdessed by the detgats from Nationalist China, Bylorus-sia S.S.K. (one of the republics of the U.S.S.R.), Ethiopia, and the United States. They were briefed by members of the Secretariat 4 and an intrepretcr.Following the lectures, they toured Greenwich Village and ;Chinatown on foot. They took a boat' ride around Manhattan Is- {land and the Statue of Liberty and had an evening free for 1shopping.On the last day of her trip ]Linda and her companions saw “Gone with the Wind” and the ,Radio City Music Hall Rockettcs.
