Special mu- ;sic Was a vocal duet, “Safe 'In The Arms of Jesus”, sung ‘by Mrs, Darrel Behrens and 1Mrs. Robert Rebhuhn, accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Edward Bartels.Attendants were Robert Beckfield, DeWayne Beck-fied, Emmett Haverson, Roy Wilkinson, Mevin Madsen and Ben Johnson.Rev. Carl Wenger, pastor, read the following obituary:Emma Augusta Beckfield, daughter of William and Christine Fethke, was born June 2, 1876, in Chicago, 111. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 6, 1890. When she was two years old, her parents moved to Minnesota where she spent her childhood and youth.On February 25, 1897, she was joined in marriage to Fred Beckfield. To this union were born five sons, William, Walter, Herman, Albert. Another son, Louis, died in infancy The family lived on a farm in Lincoln Township. They were pioneers of Iowa agriculture and their hard work and thrift were richly rewarded. In 1926 they retired from active farming and moved to Storm Lake.On March 12, 1948, her husband was taken from herthrough death, and she wasi left to the care of her sonsand daughters-in-law. She lived alone in her home in StormLake where she enjoyed the , visits of her children, her grandchildren, and her friends : and neighbors.She was preceded in death | bv her husband, Fred, and four f sons, William, Walter, Herman• and Louis. She is survived by one son, Albert; four daugh-’ ters-,in-law, Gwendolyn, Alice,; I.ucille and Ella; six grand-1 children, and fifteen greatgrandchildren; and one brother Fred Fethke, residing inCalifornia.1 About two weeks ago she1 suffered a stroke and she wastaken to the Buena Vista Coun-j tv Hospital in Storm Lake* where her life slowly but r steadily ebbed peacefully2 away. She departed from these ^ earthly scenes last Monday : afternoon, reaching the ripe old e age of 89 years, 3 months, 11 j? days.May she rest in peace!Interment was made at the Storm Lake Cemetery with the e Hughes-Nelson Funeral Home s in charge.
