Traffic Drowning Miscellaneous Total no 2 By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS At least 17 persons lost their lives in traffic accidents in Ohio over the weekend. An Associated Press survey, which covered the period from 6 p.m. Friday until midnight Sun day, showed that four other died in miscellaneous mishaps. For the first time since the long summer season started, no drown ings were reported. The worst accident of the week end occurred Sunday when three Pataskala persons died after their car smashed into the side of a freight train engine in Licking County. The fatalities: Friday Night Henry Ley, at, Oneida, Tenn , killed on a Cincinnati street when ‘a hit-skip driver's car struck ain! ‘after he had finished changing a tire Paul Schultz, 24, Kinsman, when a shotgun he was dismantling fir ed accidentally. Demara Cecil Wright Jr, 39, Shinnston, W. Va., when he lost control of his vehicle on Ohio 245 near Chester (Meigs County). David Allen Fisher, 18, Celina, in autotruck crash at a rural in tersection two miles west of Ce lina. Saturday Jerry J. Hanes, 23, Rt. 5, Xenta, when his car ran off U.S. 35 west of Xenia. Mrs. Frances Castellanos, 34, Massillon, when her car left U.S. 21 about one mile north of Mas sillon, hit a ditch and rolled over. Arnold MacNealy, 60, Toledlo, ta two-car crash 10 miles south of Oberln. Catherine Karalevicz, 25, Frank lin, in a two-car crash 10 miles north of Lebanon. John Portz, 12, Solon, suffocat ed when a tunnel he had dug in a four-foot-high pile of topso in his yard collapsed, buying him. Roy L. Sullivan, 12, Waynesville, when a car struck him as he rode jhis homemade motorbike on US. 42 north of Waynesville. Howard €. Johnson, 32, Day ton, when his car left Interstate 70 five miles west of Springfield. Robert E. Neal, 19, Circleville, when his car went out of control on Ohio 793 south of Lancaster Frank Wiley, 69, Danbury Town ship (Ottawa County), struck by a hit-skip motorist about four miles east of Port Clinton. Sunday Clyde C Roller, 1, Ashtabula County coroner, of injuries suf fered Saturday in a two-car crash five miles south of Jefferson. Kester Roach, 45, Richard Jones, 2’, and James Collinsworth, 17, Pataskala area, when their car ran into the side of the engine of a frewch train at Outville (Licking County). Russell Mercer, 54, McArthur, when a tractor he was operating overturned and crushed him in Gallia County. Mrs. Sally Semenko, 29, Fortres t Road, Pa., struck by an auto while standing on the lawn of a con vent in Columbus, Thomas Levacy, Rt 5, Lan caster, when“he became entangled on the rope he was playing with in a tree, fell and was hanged.
