Gore’s campaign for the I'nited States senate after the World war, when Gore's stand ac-''*' American participation in the conflict led to his defeat.Governor Haskell appointed Owen to the criminal court of appeals in BMW, and Gov. Robert L. Williams named him to the supreme court in 1917.Owen was returned to the supreme court by election, and in 1919 became its chief justice.Hi* resigned his court position in 1920 to become vice president, trust officer and general' attorney for the American National bank here. Two years later he returned to politics as a candidate against Jack Walton in the race for the Democratic nomination forgovernor.His wife, his son, Davis I Homer Owen, and his daughter, Mrs. Jessica Coates, Santa Monica, Gal., were at his bedside as death came.—Tulsa Tribune.
