CENTAfc^TANAf**Mr. Voorhies, the locating engineer for this section, with his corps of engineers, has justdoaed the location of thirty miles of this important werk extending from E. vansvil fe north, to the head waters of Pigeon. We understand' that the route is considered favorable; and that the cosfof constructing this portion of the canal willnot exceed $11,000 per mile. This portion of the Hue embraces six locks, making ah aggregate of 46 feet tocksge—two feeder dams on Pigeon and a heinber ofciil-verts. . — .
