Seeser’s Roots In U.S. Folk StreamThere is a rumor circulating- to che effect that Peter Seeger was never born and will never die. It is said that he appeared concurrently with the advent of folk music and will remain to sing his song always. While the rumor may lack authenticity, (Seeger was born on May 3, lyiy; the singer is noted tor the timeless quality inherent in the simplicity oi his manner and the conviction of his voice.Seeger’s first folk music contacts in the late lydU's were with such balladeers as Woody Guthrie, Leadbeliy,” Josh White and others.
