Friday night, September 25, the Saint Jo Yellowjackets invade Eagle headquarters for a period of head thumping. In the game with the Yel lowshirts last year, two memoriable plays originated. In the second quar ter, “Speck” Manie intercepted a for ward pass on his own thirty yard line and, through no fault of his own, evaded no tacklers and ran seventy yards for a touchdown. In the mean time the Saints earned a touchdown to tie the score. It was then that some obliging Eagle lineman blocked a punt which Leonard Clark caught and car ried the six winning points over the goal line. ‘The point is, neither of those touchdowns were “earned.” On the other hand, Saint Jo put over six points withoout the aid of the “breaks.” The Yellowjackets will be fighting with an added incentive other than the ordinary “do or die” spirit. The Fagles will be exactly one foot from the Saint line, proving, with the help of the I. H.S. student body, that they can do it without the breaks.—The Talon.
