Ccmelius James Holt, police constable stationed at Coolangatta. said he went to the scene of the accident, vhere he interviewed a man named Tohn Fischle. Fischle had stated he vas driving towards Coolangatta on Sis correct side of the read. He was ^ ravelling at about 30 miles pr hour, rt was raining slightly at the time •».nd the roadway was wet. He saw he lights of another.car approaching and these began to dazz'e him. .lust as the other car was passing he had his vision fixed on the side of the road when he saw a man riding a bicycle about 10 feet in front of his ~ar He applied his brakes and the -'ar skidded forward and the middle cf the front of the car struck the •ear wheel of the bicycle.Fischle had informed witness that, in his opinion, the accident was aused by Anderson having no light 'n his bicycle and by the fact that hhe lights of the other car had dazzled him lt;Fischle;.Witness said he also had interview’-cd John Ow*m Aubrey,, of Lang's “toad. Bald Hills, who was a passenger in the car with Fischle.Witness added that he had submit-ed his report on the accident to the •rcper authorities in Queensland. No iction had been taken against Fischle.This concluded the evidence and the Coroner returned the verdict as stated above.
