DEB IM Eft -(FOR NEW CITYSTATION KFYOBroadcasting Will Start ToDowntown Parade With Snight At 8 c'Clock WithPep Squad, Football(Varied CardSquad, Band Planned!Station KFYO, Abilene's new radio station with studios in the Grace Hotel, will be on the air for 29 continuous hours beginning tonight in its initial program in Abilene, The new .station will make its formal bow to the radio world promptly at 7 o’clock Piano music, singing, speeches, orchestra music, all will go toward opening the station in a big way.The last unit cf power was applied and the last wire of the antennae was strung shortly after noon Friday. Tests made at several times during the afternoon were satisfactory to radio experts in charge of the installation.The new- station will broadcast with 100 watts under its old license. As soon as the Federal Radio Commission permits. 400 more watts will be added, according to T. E. Kirk-sey, owner.KFYO was brought here from Breckenridge, where it operated for 18 months. Kirksey gave Abilene's growth and future prospects as his cause for moving the station. He declared that for future programs.he will solicit the aid of college talent.KFYO will broadcast from a double studio. This studio is os constructed that it can be used as oneIAbilene's public schools will have a holiday Monday, opening day of the West Texas fair and all students and teachers of all the units of the system will participate in the•'School Day parade, which will form on the courthouse lawn early Monday morning, and move from there promptly at D o'clock.All school children, not only of Abilene, but also all those from every community, who present themselves at the West Texas fair's main gate during Monday will be admitted without charge to the exposition.The high school band will head the Monday morning parade; following it will come the high school pep squad, the football squad, students and teachers of the high school. Central school, Travis. College Heights.
