CAUGHT IN A FLYING SHAFT. WHIRLED A HUNDRED REVOLU TIONS A MINUTE, SHATTERED AGAINST THE BEAMS. Special to Tri Lex. Fargo, Sept. 21.—About ten o'clock yesterday morning, H. L. Graham was shockingly injured, while 9 grinding tools under the Fargo roller mills. The grindstone belt having partially slipped off, he attempted to replace it, when his arm was caught and he was whirled around the shaft at the rate of a hundred revolutions a minute. For tunately one of the boys chanced to be in the same room and he ran up stairs and shut down the machinery, but this could not be done until Graham had been flung some three or four hundred times around the circle, his feet thrash ing and crashing against the timbers at every murderous revolution. When released, he was found to be in a frightful condition, his feet crushed into masses of jelly, and the shattered bones scattered all over the room. In adhdition, his arm was broken, and inter nal injuries seem to have been received, as he spit much blood. He was removed to the Reynolds house, where his wounds were dressed by Drs. Darrow and Shur lock. Strange as it may appear, in spite of all his terrible injuries, there is said to be some chance of his recovery.
