town and Helen Browne of Winchester for the murder of their infant child recently, has produced much excitement, especially on account of the savage character of the crime. The parties implicated are awaiting trial in Keene jail. T.ie evidence against them appears to be conclusive.Walpole, N. H.Father Locke addressed the citizens of this place Friday evening, giving some of his experience in prisons. He has of late years visited many prisons in the hopes of doing good to the inmates, and gives it as his conviction that nine tenths of the whole criminals of the country can trace their down fall back to the use of intoxicating drinks.The next meeting of the Reform Club will be held in Town Hall, Thursday evening, and a full attendance is requested as business of importance is to be transacted.
