Second. Ward meeting.At a meeting of the friends of free soil, held at Whipple’s Exchange on Thursday evening, E. A., Maynard, Esq., was called to the chair, and John Hcbbell appointed Secretary.The call for the meeting was read by the Secretary, and its objects stated at large by I. V. Van-dxrpojel, Esq., upon whose motion it wasResolved, That we now proceed to form a Jeffersonian Free Soil Laagiie, for this ward, and that we adopt as the basis of its organization, theconstitution and by-laws of the general league for the city, so far as the same may be applicable.Col. Bassett moved that the officers of theleague be nominated by the meeting, which wascarried, and the following officers chosen :President—CHARLES T.
