Your gueaa 15 as good aa mine: This morning a 'phone caller reported a silver object, moving fast, possibly a flying saucer, racing above the State Mine, swinging back over Oakey Park. We investigated. Sure enough, a great vapor trail in the shape of a soml-clrcle lay across the sky at a height of about 4,000 feet above the State Mine. It was clearly viewed by businessmen, shoppers and police, and was very similar to the vapor trail given ofT by certain aircraft. It took about an hour and a half to disperse in the rarifled air. In an effort to trace our phone-caller, we rang the State Mine. The comment: Saw no flying saucer, but we aaw some birds and clouds. (There were no clouds in the sky!) Steelworks colliery: Saw the moon, but nothing else.
