Opal Camden, 20, daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Camden, was critically injured in a one car accident southwest of Cres ton early Sunday morning. The car in which she was riding missed a turn at a T intersec tion, ran into an embankment and continued on to hit a fence. John Dean Hess, also 20, of Creston, was the driver of the car. He was Injured but ran about a mile to a house to get help after the accident. Miss Camden was thrown a gainst the rear view mirror, evidently, and both eyes were injured to the extent that her vision may be lost. She also suffered multiple fractures of facial bones. She was taken to the Creston hospital and on Iowa City. The Camden family said this morning that doctors have tak en X-Rays but they said noth ing could be done until the swelling goes down. Surgery will probably be attempted, but it is too soon to know what can be accomplished. The couple had planned to be married the latter part of Sep tember and were preparing their home on a farm near where the accident occurred. The front end of the car was badly damaged. Mr Hess suffer ed broken ribs, cuts and bruises. He was treated at the Creston hospital.
