Ohio and Pennsylvania Drivers To Compete Saturday WOLFE PS ENTERS DAWSON, Pa., Sept. 19. All attendance records for dirt track automobile racing promise to be shat tered when one of the most brilliant fields that ever assembled for a 100- mile dirt track event start a dash for gold and glory in the forth annual meet of the Dawson Fair Association here Saturday afternoon, September 22. Motor enthusiasts will trek here from various parts of the entire Tri-State dis trict expecting to see as great a group of daredevils as ever competed on a track in this section. If the mounts do not go bad, new speed marks for this area probably will be established. Winners of Ohio and Pennsylvania will be pitted against each other in the race which will be the finale of the season in Western Pennsylvania. Fore most of the Ohio racers will be Bill Chittum and Shorty Wolfe, of Colum bus and Curley Grandel, of Canton. Chittum has been a consistent winner in his invasions of Western Pennsylvania. Curley Grandel has been a winner at Dawson as well as on tracks in many sections and will rank as one of the favorites in the race here. Johnny Clavenger, of Mount Morris a winner at Washington ths year; Tony Boyle, of Bridgeville, who took the lab or Day race at Arden Downe; A. Wall, of Washington, who has partici pated in all the important race meets in Western Pennsylvania for the last few years; and Red Campbell, a skil ful driver from Detroit, Mich, are among those who will be pitted against the crack Ohio trio. The race here will be conducted un der the same supervision as in the past with Bud Lewine, of Washington, Pa., long associated with the Penn Racing Association in charge. Immediately after the final horse race Friday, the track will be specially treated to lay the dust to provide ideal conditions for fans and racers alike.
