Moore Was a Pilot on Mississippi RiverdiBrumfield Cove Moore, son of tu Joseph and Emma Moore, was born ar at Commerce January 10, 1879, and th he lived there a greater part of his1 life. As a young man he attended si the colleges at Caledonia, Mo., Frank- M lin, Tenn., and the Mexico Military T1 '-'chool at Mexico, Mo.He was married to Susie L. Marshall February 7, 1899, at Commerce, by Rev. O. H. Phillips, pastor of the Methodist church and to them three surviving children were born: Marshall T. Moore of Oblong, 111., Mrs. Chalmer B. Solt of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred Kage of St. Louis.In 1916 the Moores left Commerce and moved to Boonville, where they resided until October 1919 and then moved to Bolivar. After a short residence there, they returned to Commerce, and were planning on living in the Ozarks, when bright’s disease caused his death, after an illness of about one year.Mr. Moore always had a great fondness for the Mississippi river and in his younger days studied to be a pilot. For several years he ran from St. Louis to New Orleans with Captain Sims on the Hill City, one of the largest boats on the river.Cove Moore was a familiar figure that will be missed around Commerce, where he was known to everyone, and was well liked by hosts of friends.Purial was made at Commerce, the funeral in charge of Rev.
