The premium list of theden Agri cultural Society is issued, and the farmers of the Island are getting ready to exhibit their prize pigs, poultry and pumpking on the 20th and 21st of September. The Eden Fair make no pretensions of being the big gest or gayest In the state, but it is a good one and those who enjoy an old fashioned country fair should not fail to attend This year a special appeal has been made to the summer colony and many have responded most generously with purses ranging from $5 to $50 to be divided as premiums for stock, vege tables and poultry as the committee thought best The society is especially grateful to those who have responded and trust that all feel that the society is accomplishing something, at least, in its efforts to bring about better con ditions among the farmers and market gardeners, as well as being interested In bringing improved vegetables and poultry products directly to the tables of the summer colony. In the horse department a purse of $20 has been offered by John H. Staf ford. In the cattle department a purse of $25 has been offered by John S. Kane. For the live poultry department a purse of twenty dollars has been offered by Gen. Thomas H. Hubbard, and a similar one by Mr. Francis Bur ton Tarrison. A purse of ten dollars has been offered by Mr. M. 8. Arey for barred Plymoth Rocks. In the dressed poultry department a purse of fifteen dollars has been offered by Miss Edith G. Bowdoin. In the fruit department prizes of twenty dollars and ten dol lars have been offered by Miss Bessie C. Coles and Mrs. Uriel H. Crocker. In the vegetable departments price of ten dollars has been offered by Edward B. Mears, $1 dollars by Charles L. Shand ten dollars by Mrs. John J. Emery, twenty-five dollars by Mrs. Morris K. Jesup, twenty dollars by Mr. Henry Lane Eno, fifty dollars by T . Fahne stock, twenty dollars by E.G. Grob. The Society offers a suitable cup to private gardeners only for the best collection of vegetablea grown in the open in twelve variethes. Abbons are
