Vlf V aPatrick Tierney of Cokedale was arrested and taken before Justice Hosford Thursday on a charge of robbery preferred against him by Lee Feild. The complaint alleges that Feild, Tierney and others were gambling at Cokedale Wednesday and that Feild succeeded in winning from Tierney the sum of $51 which, with other possessions, he left with Donovan (lard for safe keeping during the night; that after retiring for the night with a companion named Shepley, Feild was awakened by the appearance of Tierney at the room door with a demand for admission. Tierney was informed that he wrould not be admitted, whereupon he threatened to break down the door, when he was admitted by Shepley. Upon entering Tierney had a revolver in one hand and a light in the other. He compelled Feild to take the light and under a threat that the revolver would be used to enforce his commands Tierney compelled Feild to lead the way to Donovan Card’s saloon, receive his money and return to Tierney the amount won in gambling. The case was set for Thursday, but on the representation of Tierney that he was sick and desired a continuance, the case was continued until today and the defendant held in the sum of 8700 for his appearance.
