New ‘34’ Pavers On The ‘Move’Paving began last week on the $4 million four-lane Expressway which skirts Glenwood and links interstate 29 with U. S. 34. The 7 1/2 mile super highway could be open to traffic in November, according to Bill Burgan, Red Oak, Resident Engineer for the Iowa Highway Commission. When complete, the project will clear US 34 of all major construction work between 1-29 and Ottumwa, highway officials said. Fred Carlson Co., Inc., of Decorah have the $1/718,000 surfacing contract.
