I nterstateOpening Is Set October 1October 1 is the target date of New York State highway engineers for the opening of the two-mile bypass Interstate 281 from DeWitt to Jamesville Rd., Work is being rushed this week on a five-foot center mall on E. Genesee St. at the DeWitt flats.Engineers said the chipstone mall will divide E. Genesee St. from Ambergate Rd. to Maple* Dr. The divider will bo flush with the pavement. Two solid yellow double lines will be painted on each side of the mall as an extra safety measure.Within the next two weeks barricades will be constructed at doadend roadways. Highway workers will also stripe the new highway. Seeding has been completed in somef ^sections and is ■being* continued along the malls
