George IasiThursday, Sept. 12. to be with his son, Ail, who underwent a minor throat surgery at a Los j Angeles hospital Saturday morning. About 9 p.m., on Saturday evening he visited his son at the hospital, and before retiring stopped across the driveway from his v son’s apartment to the home of Harriet D, Deeter, 1417 street, from where he phoned | j Mrs. StaiT in St. George to say Art was doing nicely. Mrs. Dee ter f is a friend of the family with whom Grace Starr, now Mrs. Frank Hawkes resided while in Los Angeles.About 10:30 p.m., he returned s across the driveway to Art’s j apartment which is in the base- c mem. Nothing else Is known ex- f cept that about 2 a, m.. Mrs. Dec- }■ ter, from her room, heard MrJj Starr groaning. She dressed and r crossed the driveway to learn s the trouble, found his hat at the ]-top landing and his unconscious a body at the fool the stair lead- \ ing to his son’s apartment. She r summoned the police for help j-and Mr. Starr was removed to fl the hospital where his condition ( was termed as serious due to a skull fracture from the bludg* t eon of his assailant.Mrs. Starr left Sunday on re-jc eojpt of new s of the accident and Y 11 and is still with her husband, v whose return to consciousness e last evening increases the hope c for his recovery although it is a known his injuries are very ser- p ious.
