GARY BOYA ten year aid Emerson high school boy Joseph Nelson 311 East 8th avenue was frightfully bitten by a vicious bull dog owned by Virgil KJump, 613 Adams street in Gary yesterday afternoon in one of the worst cases of this kind ever reported in the history of the city.The boy’s body was frightfully lacerated by the enraged animal and witnesses claim that it was a wonder that the victim did not loose his life. Supt. E. A. Spaulding took the boy to his home where treatment was rendered.The animal was taken to the veterinary hospital of Dr. * Ebright where it will be held under obser-tlon for a period of two weeks. It was stated by Dr. Ebright this morning, that up to this time the animal had showed no signs of rabbles.Police who conducted an investigation state that the dog did not appear to be a vicious animal and learned from the owner that boys had been teasing him. The animal had been kept tied up in the yard but had been released by someone and roamed over to the Emerson school where he attacked young Nelson.— ____ reC10 a1Ir/v
